U.S. Supreme Court

Certiorari Denied:  Of particular interest to those in California, the Court denied review of the Ninth Circuit decision in Diloreto v. Downey Unified School District, No. 98-56762 (9th Cir. November 8, 1999), which upheld as lawful the Downey School Districtís refusal to post a paid religious advertisement, which included the Ten Commandments, on school property where commercial advertising was permitted. The Ninth Circuit held that the school districtís actions did not violate the free speech rights of the proposed advertiser.
